Kim Quan Am Oolong Tea – The Harmony of Fatty Rice and Oolong Fragrance

1. Origin & Growing Region

Tri Viet’s Kim Quan Am Oolong is made from Kim Tuyen 27 variety – a famous oolong tea variety from Taiwan, grown on the Bao Loc – Lam Dong plateau at an altitude of 800-1,000m above sea level. The climate here is cool all year round, with an average temperature of 18-22°C, mild sunny days and cold nights – perfect conditions for tea trees to accumulate nutrients and aroma.
Red basalt soil, rich in minerals, porous, along with morning fog and pure water from the mountains and forests have created plump tea buds, thick leaves, and rich aroma and flavor. Bao Loc has long been known as the “tea capital of the world”, a place where high-quality teas loved around the world converge.

2. Harvesting

Only buds that meet the standard of 1 bud and 3-4 leaves are selected, ensuring the right amount of youth to maintain the sweetness, rich aftertaste and leaf thickness. The pickers skillfully caress each bud in the morning mist, carefully selecting to bring back the best ingredients for the tea batch.
3. Oolong production process
Harvesting → Withering → Roasting to make fragrant → Stir-frying to kill yeast → Shaping → Drying the finished product → Refining

4. Taste & Feel

When brewed, the tea blooms evenly, the water color is bright golden yellow. The aroma exudes the rich, fatty aroma of young rice mixed with the characteristic fresh, fatty aroma of Oolong – refreshing but still rich. The tea has a full, sweet aftertaste, a smooth, fatty feeling that covers the entire mouth, leaving a gentle aftertaste like the taste of early morning sunlight still lingering on young leaves.
